Private Museum Description
The Nezu Museum was founded to conserve and exhibit pre-modern Japanese and East Asian art from the collection of Nezu Kaichirō. The museum opened to the public in 1941 and houses seven National Treasures and a range of genres in painting, calligraphy, sculpture, metalwork, ceramics, lacquerware, wooden and bamboo craft, textiles and more. In addition to the private museum, there is a beautiful Japanese garden.
